Day 14, Derby

We decided we all needed another "chill" day at home, so we stuck around Derby for the day. Derby is located in Derbyshire and is just west of Nottingham and about 2.5 hours northwest of London. Derby is where Scott and Jackie have called "home" for the past 2 years and is a decent sized town. For some reason, I had pictured in my mind this sweet little village of some sort before arriving, but was pleasantly surprised when I walked around and saw how much there really is in the town of Derby.

We walked to the nearest bus stop from their house and headed into the center of town. We stopped in several charity shops, which is the UK's version of a secondhand store, only, from what I remember, they donate most of their proceeds to a specific charity, hence the name. I enjoy bringing home a tea cup when I travel as my souvenir and had been looking since we arrived for this elusive and special tea cup. Today's shopping availed nothing of the sort. [sigh]

We went to this store ... how cool is that?!?! I got us some amazing orange curd here. To die for!
