We've gotten an insane amount of rain this month. Honestly and truly. Insane amounts. From about the 10th of September until now, it's rained almost every day. We went 8 days straight with constant rain.
And I've LOVED IT!!
It's been cool enough that we've actually turned our air off and have slept with the windows open for the past two nights. Glorious. Simply glorious.
I probably would be cranky and grouchy if I was actually out and about in it every day. But sitting at my desk for 9 hours a day, simply looking at it, the constant rain doesn't bother me in the slightest little bit.
Cuz, normally, we would still be experiencing summer-like temperatures here in North Texas. And I'd be crabby about it being September and why in the world are grocery stores putting out pumpkins and gourds and mums when it's still blazing hot out with 90 degree temps?!?!?! But instead, my heart is happy and grateful that even though flowers are still blooming and the grass and leaves are still green, it at least feels like fall.
Here it is almost October and no hot, hot days.
Bring it on, rainy weather. I don't care if you ever go away. You are more than welcome to stay, especially if cooler temperatures accompany you.
Maybe I will go out and purchase, without feeling a tinge of guilt, pumpkins and mums and put them on my front porch and in my house. That sounds like a great idea.
I'm grateful you are here, Fall. You make my heart happy.
