Sweet Grant -
I've done it again. I missed blogging when you turned 6 months, and then you hit 7 months, and I still missed the day. I'm so sorry sweet boy!
You are definitely in the "happy baby" stage of life. You are sitting now and reeeeaching for toys as far as your little arms can go. No movement from you yet. You are content to be plopped down and play with what's in front of you. Well, as long as someone's in the room with you - you like to be around people and if we leave the room, even for a minute, you let us know of your displeasure in us. You love watching your big brother and smile so big when he comes near you. You have the sweetest little laugh - it doesn't come out often, but when we can get you to laugh, it's so worth it.
I started you on solids days before your 6 month mark. You LOVED it. You were grabbing my hand as I was spooning food into your mouth, like you were trying to get me to move faster. It was precious. So far you've done well with everything I've given you - oatmeal, bananas, avacados, pears, sweet potatoes, and prunes. You've been a bit constipated and I was hoping the fruits and oatmeal would help. They have, to some extent, but not what I'd like to see. You are still nursing 5 times a day - every 4 hours and then a 10:30 pm that I'm ready to drop. No teeth yet. I'm surprised as I thought you'd be getting them about 3 months ago.
You are still my chunky baby. At your last doctor's appt, you weighed 19.1 lbs and were 27 1/2" long - 80%! Just this last week, I've finally gotten out all the 12 month clothes to have you wear. My sweet fat baby! I love you and all your chunky rolls!
While we were on vacation, you really started growling and making a deep "aagh" sound when people talk to you. You also say "bababa" and can say "mama". You say that when you really do want me, and my love, you want me a lot. I think I've got a bit of a momma's boy on my hands.
This past week or so you've not felt well. You started out with a slight fever, which turned into a rash, which then turned into a cough and now just a runny, drippy nose. Your hair is still a beautiful red color and you've got the best eyelashes I've ever seen.
I love you, sweet baby! I'm so glad God gave you to me!!
Daddy playing with you and Bennett when he gets home. So much fun.
Your first time in a high chair - don't worry, we still have you in your bumbo. We aren't making you grow up that fast! :)
First time in our pool - you love the water! It's so fun to watch you splash like crazy!
Very intent on the reflections in the water.
I'm a precious baby!!
