Our lovely friend, Erin, and her fellow teachers threw us a "sip 'n see" last week at TCA. I had never heard of this before, but now I'm a huge fan! It's basically a baby shower after the fact. You come, you sip something to drink, you see the baby, and then you leave. Perfect!
We were showered with diapers and Target gift cards. Such a blessing. I've been super burned out on cloth diapering these days (gosh, somehow adding one more person in cloth diapers has made it seem like a HUGE deal!)so the extra disposables will help get me through this slump of hating to cloth diaper. :)
Bennett charmed all the teachers and was a great boy. I had laid out for him, in very detailed instructions, how he was to behave and he did fabulous. He only stole about a gazillion cookies (picture fat toddler hand slowly reaching above the table and quietly slipping another cookie into his mouth!) and the teachers got the biggest kick out of him. They kept looking at me like, "Aren't you going to stop this kid? Hello sugar high!", but he was having fun and being sweet and I'm not a freak-out mother when it comes to sugar.
I didn't take any pictures, but Erin did ... and here's the link to her post about it.

Super cute ideas. Super cute party. Just super cute.
I love the idea of celebrating a second child born into a family. The first-born is wonderful because you need all that baby stuff. But when #2 comes along, and especially if it's a repeat gender, you really don't need anything else and yet you still want that baby to be loved and doted on. So, this idea of a sip 'n see is great. No big expectations for gifts, but you still get to be excited with the family and love on the little one too! Many, many thanks to Erin and the 3rd grade team for their love for our family and for sweet, baby Grant!
