So, without further ado, here's my account of yesterday, March 27, 2012.
12:34 G fusses in the crib next to our bed. I jump up and stick the paci in his mouth and notice the clock. Yes, it seems that I always see it at this time! I stick the pac in G's mouth several times - 3?? Who knows. I'm too tired to remember.
2:17 The paci trick no longer works and I get up to nurse the baby in the living room. I turn on "Mad Men" and grab the iPod to play games to keep myself awake. G is falling asleep too quickly so I change his diaper to wake up. Look, dude, if you are going to wake me up to eat, you'd better EAT!
3:07 Climb back into bed and immediately fall asleep.
6:22 The baby fusses again and I try the paci trick.
6:23 Paci in again. I think Kc is already up to shower, but I don't know.
6:30 Paci not working so I bring G into bed with me to nurse him. I'm so tired. So very tired.
8:10 I am awakened by B's hollering in his crib. I'm still not awake enough yet to actually deal with him so I doze off and let him continue talking in his crib. G is still asleep next to me in our bed.
8:21 Drag myself out of bed and go retrieve B. He's holding his new Thomas engine that he got last night in an Easter package from Mom. Nice. He must've been holding it when Kc put him down. I wonder if he actually slept all night holding it or was it in his bed. We'll never know. :)
8:28 B finally wants to get out of his bed and I change his diaper and let him get down and start playing.
8:38 I make breakfast for both of us and start my cup of tea going. B makes a beeline for his "kitchen" and makes me eat lemons. It's our thing. I make the biggest sour face I can and he thinks it's hysterical and then I have to do it like 18 more times. B eats his breakfast and I put away the dishes sitting on the counter from dinner.
9:20 While messing around on the computer, I show B the video of Max eating his first bites of cereal. B loves all videos of his cousins and we watch it several times. B gets down to play and I goof off on pinterest. B decides that it's more fun to whine than play so I get off the computer.
9:44 I hear G cooing on my bed and my constant shadow follows me in there. B wants to play peek-a-boo with his little brother. Precious.
9:50 I get B dressed and hurry and put in my contacts so I can finally see what I'm doing and feel a bit more awake. G is still cooing and B wants to play "tato head" and trains, all at the same time. His room suddenly looks like a tornado went through it.
10:04 I get everything ready to start nursing when I smell a horrendous smell in the pantry. Start snooping around to find a rotting onion. Yuck. Must deal with it immediately. So. Many. Distractions. Finally sit down to nurse and turn on "Price Is Right" for us. B calls it "mommy show" but really, "Mad Men" is currently my show. B plays right next to me -- climbs all over couch and me, holds a cupcake and spoon from his kitchen, climbs in and out of every chair in the living room, finds the corn to hold, gets out a million books to read, climbs back in every chair. I'm tired just watching him. I stop mid-way through nursing to clip G's nails and suck his nose. He seems to be having a hard time nursing because he can't breathe. Poor baby.
10:44 Notice that B has leaked through his clothes and so I stop nursing to change his diaper and shorts. I leave G on the couch to finish watching "The Price is Right".
10:52 Come back to change G into his outfit and a clean diaper. B is now carrying his cupcake and lotion.
10:56 Lay G on the playmat and go take a shower. B follows me into my room and wanders around while I shower ... I think. :)
11:12 Out of the shower and go to survey to make sure everyone is still alive and well. They are.
11:31 Put G in the swing so I can finish getting ready. He cries. B cries because I take away the lotion.
11:35 Decide the best way to end sadness is by going outside. Put shoes on everyone and head out back. I put on my makeup while bouncing G in the bouncy seat and B plays. The live oak tree has decided to shed -- it's EVERYWHERE and blowing all over creation. Gross.
11:54 G is finally asleep in the bouncy so now I can play with B.
12:03 While swinging B, I notice 2 mounds of fire ants right next to the swing. I am super mom and find the ant poison and kill those suckers.
12:08 Can't stand the live oak anymore and come in to deal with that and The Great Post-Baby Hair Shed that's now all over my bathroom. B is still playing outside.
12:29 Bring B in and have him eat lunch. He prays for: Mc'D's, Rice, praying, MOPS, cheese, hotdogs and Daddy -- in that order. He eats.
12:34 Just as I'm sitting down to eat my leftovers of cashew chicken, G wakes so I bounce him while I eat my lunch. B talks about Erin, Hannah and Drew. And then throws in that "Bennett have gas". Nice, son.
12:57 Get ready to nurse when G has a blow out. B tries to be "a helper" by handing me the boppy pillow.
1:01 Finally start nursing. B wants to watch "Sesame Street" on Netflix.
1:13 G is cooing too much to nurse. Grr. B is so excited about reading his new Thomas book that he tears a page. Grr. I get a huge burp out of G and this makes him coo even more. Still not interested in nursing.
1:27 I give up on trying to get G to eat.
1:30 Take B back for his nap. Change his diaper, pick up all the kitchen items that are strewn all over our house, and read his 2 new favorite books -- Jonah and Noah. We sing and pray and he goes down for a nap.
1:47 I finish with Bennett and he instructs "Mommy help Grant" so I do so. I put on a new outfit on G (from his blow out) and rinse out all the dirty diapers from the day. Gotta love 2 in cloth diapers. :)
1:53 I call my mom back (who had called while I was putting B down) and we chat for a bit. I have G on my lap and he's flailing his arms and generally freaking out about life.
2:11 Hang up with my mom and put G in the bouncy seat. Poor kid lives in this seat!
2:14 B is STILL up so I go back and rock him some more. I had figured it was a dirty diaper, but nope, he was just still up and talking to himself.
2:25 Sit down with a cookie and my BSF study. I put G in the swing so he can go to sleep.
2:28 G is not happy in swing and needs his paci to be replaced several times as he fights sleep.
2:31 G has now fallen asleep in the swing and I can STILL hear B talking. This is very unusual. I continue working on my BSF for the week
2:44 I finally go back and sternly tell B to lay down and be quiet and take a nap! He does and I look online for some ideas for an alphabet wall and corresponding letters.
3:15 Since both boys are asleep, I decide I should lay down on the couch and close my eyes for a few minutes.
4:05 I wake up, eat a snack, and check my email.
4:22 G wakes up and I start nursing him.
4:29 Woah! The garage door opens and Kc walks in - he's home early!! :)
4:33 B wakes up or is possibly awakened by his daddy??? Not entirely sure.
4:41 B is super cranky but a snack of pretzels and Nutella seems to do the trick and he's all happy now.
4:55 I'm finally finished nursing and change G's diaper.
5:08 B and I go out front to get the mail and I start boiling some water for iced tea for dinner.
5:12 Pull out my recipe for Katie's Sassy Sausage and Bean soup and start making dinner.
5:18 I feel something crawling on me and freak out about a few bugs that have found their way down my shirt. Aargh!!
5:21 Back to cooking
5:32 Erin arrives for the evening. She helps me finish up preparing dinner and we visit while doing so. Daddy is playing with the boys in the living room.
5:56 We sit down for dinner. B prays for his usual stuff.
6:19 Kc has to leave for his accountability group on DTS's campus. We talk about how he only has 5 more to attend and we cheer for him!
6:31 Erin and I have decided to take a quick jaunt to the park near by and load everybody up in strollers and head out.
6:51 We arrive at the park and G is asleep in his carseat. We play. B loves it. He cries to leave.
7:30 We are back at home and Erin takes B in for his nightly bath. I feed G and he has a huge diaper. Change him into his pj's and a clean diaper. I lay out all of B's pj's and milk and finish feeding G.
8:13 B and I pick up all the toys he's gotten into while drinking his milk and during the evening.
8:19 He and I head back to his room for bed and Erin holds G and does the dinner dishes.
8:34 Bennett is asleep and Erin and I sit at the kitchen table and drink iced tea while I bounce G with one foot. We look at pinterest and talk about random stuff. It's wonderful.
9:35 Erin heads out and I expect Kc home at anytime.
9:37 I head to the couch and have some sweet one-on-one time with G. He coos and gurgles and smiles like crazy. I also download a new app on my iPod that Erin told me about.
9:52 I start nursing the little one and Kc walks through the door.
10:04 G keeps falling asleep so I change his diaper so he'll wake up a bit and finish nursing. Kc and I catch up on the events of the day and how his small group time went.
10:25 I put a very sleepy baby to bed and return to the kitchen to turn on the dishwasher, eat a snack (no wonder I can't lose this baby weight!!) and catch up on all my games on the iPod.
10:54 Finally finish goofing off and having some down time and head to bed. Hallelujah!! :)
