Easter 2011

I feel like this year was Bennett's first Easter. Last year, he was just shy of 4 weeks old and I was so sleep deprived that it was all a blur. :) But this year I really wanted to make it special and just enjoy the holiday! Kc's folks were able to be here for Easter and it was fun to have family around to help us celebrate.

I had a basket for Bennett (and Kc) and put pretzels and animal crackers in the plastic eggs. At the last minute, I decided to put some eggs out for a little "hunt", not thinking that he would even notice them. Oh, I was wrong. When he got up, he was sitting on my lap, drinking his bottle, when he noticed the plastic eggs on the hearth. He immediately wanted to get down and made a beeline for the eggs. It was precious! And filled my heart with much joy. It was so cute to watch him try to open the eggs and figure out how he was going to hold them all in his arms! :)

We were able to snag a few family pictures before heading out to church.

We had brunch instead of the traditional ham lunch and I was so pleased with the outcome. With everyone's help, the meal was delicious and quite tasty. We made a potato frittata, hashbrowns, cinnamon rolls, bacon, sausage, asparagus, parfaits, and chocolate covered strawberries.
I even pulled out Great-Grandma Barrick's dishes and used those for the first time.

How cute is Bennett in his little coat and tie?!? Oh my word. :)

And is it just me, or does he look an awful lot like Kc's dad?
