Snowbound

We are, like most of the US, snowbound. Only, here in North Dallas, we are truly snowbound because the DOT isn't capable of handling all this precipitation. It's been 4 days and I've never seen anything resembling a truck drive by our street. But, honestly, if they are just going to put down sand instead of salt, it wouldn't make a difference any way.

Oh Dallas. How you've been anticipating this week for years ... and all your plans have gone amuck because of the weather. I think it's hysterical.

Except for the fact that they really aren't doing anything about the roads. I heard one reporter ask the question, "Shouldn't TXDOT have made an exception to their 'salt on roads is corrosive and expensive to repair said roads so we don't use it!' policy?? Like for just this week?

Unbelievable.

I'm totally stealing this from a friend's blog -- I just had to because it's hysterical! Especially in light of reading fellow Texan's FB statuses. It's very true.

Kc has been off this whole week and it's been so fun to have him at home. Bennett has LOVED it. He's played so hard and crawled and wrestled Dad non-stop. It's been precious.
Love the Asian squat (which he's been doing) and the longing to play outside
My graham cracker loving boy
Snow in Dallas! We got about 4-5", but it's currently still snowing
Yes, we are going a bit crazy here in our house. Chewing on angels? Sure. Why not.

Anyway, I think it's supposed to start warming up tomorrow, just in time for the Super Bowl. This is good. We are out of milk. And pretzels. :)

I like how you mentioned pretzels. This is why we're friends. :)

The Southerner's Snow Chart is hilarious. And very true. Y'all have more snow down there than we do in VA.

I loved this post, especially the part about making a sled out of a laundry basket. I wish I had thought of that for our kids. Y'all are such cooler parents :-P Hope to see you tomorrow!

It's so weird that you're getting all this snow and ice, and we've had lots of rain and just a little snow and icey mix stuff. Love the snow chart! Cracks me up. :)
