Baby's First Christmas

Bennett had a wonderful 1st Christmas! It was so fun to watch him open presents, even though he had NO CLUE what was going on. That's ok. That'll happen with time.

We got the Christmas season kicked off during Thanksgiving weekend with a trip to the mall to sit on Santa's lap. Depending on how you look at it, it was either a complete fail or a total success! :)
Bennett thoroughly hated every.single.minute of it. His cousin, Caleb, didn't seem to mind.
I was trying to hand off a very unwilling Bennett to Santa and Santa kept saying, "Step away, Mom, just step away." Uhh, trying here, Santa. Do you not see the death grip my child has on me?!?!? Sheesh.
All was well once Bennett was back in his mother's arms.

We got our house decorated for Christmas!
Bennett did well with the tree. He looked at it, and then crawled away. No problems at all with him wanting to touch the ornaments.

Bennett was able to attend the 3rd grade Christmas concert at TCA. He wore his adorable Christmas sweater (that Grandma Koons gave him when he was born) and was quite the little charmer. He did so well during the concert and even tried singing along with the other kids!
But, the second he got in his carseat, he was out like a light! It's hard work being so cute.

We had our own Christmas the Saturday before we left for Indiana. I made an egg casserole and we opened up our stockings and the few presents that Bennett had under the tree.
The toothbrush in the stocking was a hit!
"Is that my name? Is this one mine?"

His very own set of play keys

Love all the pictures of sweet Bennett. Meredith was just talking about how she "especially misses Bennett" these days.
