RECORD BREAKING SNOWFALL IN DFW!!!!!

Gosh. I feel like the tv news folks. That's seriously how they've sounded these past 24 hours.

"IT'S NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE!!! WE ARE MAKING DALLAS HISTORY, YA'LL!!!"

According to the DFW airport, we got 12.5" of snow yesterday'ish. I thought I'd heard that we might get snow on Thursday, but when I woke up yesterday morning, there was already about 2" on the ground and it snowed all.day.long. It was gorgeous!!! A wet, heavy snow makes for a really beautiful landscape.

My boss ordered me to go home about 2:30 yesterday. He seriously did. He said to leave at 2 and when I didn't leave (I was finishing up some stuff) he yells out his door to me, "MEGAN! Don't you ever obey????" [sigh] And so I left. :)

Everything got canceled simply because of the fact that Dallas isn't equipped to remove the slush off the roads and it got below freezing last night, causing the roads to be awful looking. We were without power for most of the night -- I think it kicked back on around 4:30 a.m. The snow is just so heavy that it's knocking over power lines and trees and such. Kc was supposed to have a 2-hr delay this morning, but got the 6am phone call this morning that school was officially canceled. And since I'm 8 months pregnant, I decided to stay home too. I think some hot chocolate, popcorn and a movie sounds like a perfect snow day to me. Although, I might try to squeeze into some snow clothes and go for a walk -- it's so beautiful out!!!

Our front yard this morning. Our streets are just full of slush - probably 6" of just ickyness.

Isn't it just beautiful?!?!?!?
The front of our house last night ...
I got to eat some fresh, clean snow!! Haven't done that in ages!!! I'm such a dork, I know ... :)
