I've got 8 more days at work. Only 8 more days! It's pretty crazy to think about. I haven't been in the working world all that long, but it is strange to think that very soon I'll be a true SAHM. Wow. It's going to work out for me to actually do some of my job from home and I'm really grateful for that! It won't be very time-consuming, but it'll allow me to keep on making some money and have something to do when the baby is sleeping, etc. So, even though I'll be home in 8 more days, I'll really still be working but only when I want to. No more getting ready and out the door by 7:15 every morning and dragging my weary body back into our house at 6pm every night. I'm looking forward most of all to that part of staying home (at this point at least!)
At my appointment on Friday, I'm still on track for a good weight gain - only 14 pounds up to this point! My belly is ALL baby, and let me tell you, I can sure feel it. His movements are much stronger now and I find myself actually having my breath literally kicked out of me! I'm experiencing those wonderful Braxton-Hick contractions, although it's difficult to tell at times because his movements are SO strong!
We have an ultrasound next week to get a better feel of how big this little guy really is. My doctor started planting the seed in my ear of a possible induction near my due date, if he gets to be as big as she thinks he will. We'll see.
We've taken our childbirth prep class and really it wasn't all that helpful. More of a lecture than a hand's on time. The most beneficial part of it for me was the tour of the hospital -- I am glad to be able to visualize the rooms and the setting in which I'll be birthing my first-born. :) We are taking several other classes that the hospital offers -- taking a 3 week Lamaze class together, a breast-feeding class for Megan and Kc is going to attend a class exclusively for first-time dads.
Our nursery is coming along ... slowly. It's been painted and that's about it. My mom ever so sweetly and amazingly made our crib skirt, which I just received this week, so now we'll be able to make the bed and all that. We bought a glider on Craigslist last week but still need to find a dresser/changing table to use. I just haven't gotten the urge to really decorate yet. I'm hoping that happens when I'm home for more than 5 awake hours each day.
Other than that, I'm ready to be done being pregnant. It's been fun ... but as with most things in life, all fun must come to an end sooner or later. :) My feet are swelling, and my right foot more than the other. I come home from work and have to put my feet up or else they'll be throbbing all night. I still can't breathe and am pretty congested. I'm not sleeping well at night which doesn't help at ALL with the extreme flux in hormones that I'm currently experiencing as well. Kc can testify to that, bless his heart. :)
The time is quickly approaching ... and I still can't believe that so soon I'll be holding my sweet babe in my arms!!

Yay for only 5 more weeks! Just about the same time I will be setting foot back in our beautiful home country!!!
My right foot swelled more then my left as well, and I had forgotten about the congestion until you mentioned it. Oh the joys of that last month.
Love the picture! The last 4 weeks always seem as long as the previous 8 months. Can't wait to see pictures of this little guy!
