While I was putting Grant down for his morning nap, my phone rang and after a few rings the call ended. I guessed it had been Mom and thought I'd call her back as soon as I finished with the G-man.
I walk into the kitchen and Bennett was holding my phone. Nothing too unusual - he likes to carry it around and pretend like he's talking to someone. I checked the missed calls and sure enough, my mom called. But it also looked like there was an outgoing call placed to her after she'd called. Huh??
I said something about this to Bennett and he tells me, "Talk to Grandma. Few minutes."
I called Mom and she affirmed that yes, she had called and yes, a little person had called her back as well! Guess he really wanted to chat with his grandma for a "few minutes"! :)

Bennett has started learning our (meaning mine and Kc's) first names. There have been numerous times in the recent weeks when he'll be in another room and holler out, "KACE?!?!", trying to get his daddy's attention. It's hysterical because he sounds just. like. me. when he does it. Hmmm .... wonder where he's heard that before??? :)

Recently Bennett has decided he needs to catch things. Well, not so much The Things as it would be The Animals.
If we are outside and he sees a small critter in our yard, he goes tearing after it as fast as his toddler legs will take him yelling, "I ketch rabbit!!" or "I ketch bird!!!" or "I ketch 'quirl'!!".
It's pretty precious. Reminds me of another 2 year old who once wanted to "catch a deer" (Mer, I'm talking about you!) :)

He's been a little behind on his gross motor skills. I think verbal skills have won over motor ones recently. But he had finally decided that jumping was a skill he really wanted to master and he hasn't been able to figure it out. He tries all the time to jump yelling, "123 JUMP!!!!", and then has no success. Fail.
Our neighbors have a couple railroad ties propping up their landscaping and he uses that as a practice area. Again, no luck with the whole jumping business.
And then on Friday night, he finally figured it out ... and the boy can now jump!
He was outside helping his daddy with some grilling and daddy got him to jump. This video is me seeing it for the first time. Please excuse my overly excited voice, but in my defense I was A) truly excited/proud for him and B) could totally tell he wanted my approval and encouragement!
I kinda like this little boy ...
