Overtime in July

In our relationship, it seems to be a trend that God works overtime in our lives during the month of July. Seriously. He seems to use this month to teach us more about Himself and throws crazy stuff at us in order that we might realize anew our complete need for Him and our total reliance on Him to sustain and provide for our daily needs.

Here's just a little example ...

In July 2007, Kc returned to the States, after having lived in China for three years. I was already home, recovering from an extremely severe case of mono. Our wedding was less than a month away, and Kc and I were frantically trying to finish up last minute details for our wedding, while busily packing all our earthly goods into our first car (having been purchased 3 weeks before the wedding), in order to move to a state that I had lived in as a little girl but Kc had never even been to before, so that he could start a new teaching job 1 week after our wedding, and find an apartment in this huge metroplex in a matter of days so that the U-haul could be unloaded. All in the month of July.

Then in July 2008, after spending a wonderful week in Indianapolis, I began experiencing excruciating back pain, which landed us in an emergency room for an emergency cholecystectomy, followed by another surgery, a week and half later, to finish removing those stubborn gallstones that were causing all the back pain for me. Meanwhile, Kc was attempting to prepare for the upcoming school year, while taking his first online seminary course, and just for the fun of it, we decided to go through an irritating move to a new apartment in the dead of a blazing hot Texas summer.

July 2009 was no exception. We spent the 4th with our dear friends, the Harms in Houston, and returning to Dallas, Kc began taking a week-long intensive seminary class where he was required to read 300 pages each night, in conjunction with his current online sem class which also required a synthetic chart of the entire book of Leviticus to be completed that same Saturday. Megan spent hours in the car each day, dropping Kc off in downtown Dallas, hightailing it up to her job, to pick him up and arrive home at 7pm each night. During that same week, we prepared to close on our first house by coordinating with utilities, lenders, friends, family and realtors, finally closing on and moving into said house, after discovering that week that I was pregnant.

In case you missed that little bit of info, here's a picture to illustrate ---

Yup. Our little family will be going from 2 persons to 3 persons around the middle of March.

We are excited. We are scared beyond belief. But, we know that the God that has sustained us throughout our lives, and even through these crazy months of July, isn't going to stop anytime soon.

And that's it.

We are having a baby.
