It must be my face. Or something.
Why else would a complete stranger approach you, tell you how perfect you are as a Mary Kay model, hand you their card, take down your name and number, and then as she's pushing her grocery cart away from yours, tells you that "she'll give you a call!"? It's so weird to me.
Only those faithful readers will remember the time when I was working at the mall and the same type of situation happened to me. There I was, minding my own business, when a Mary Kay consultant approached me, asking me to be a model for her parties. I had to decline the offer, seeing as I was leaving the country for a year very soon after that, but still ... twice in one's life?! Random!
They've both said the same thing, that'd I'd be perfect for a model when they need someone to make-over.
Huh.
My alter-ego says they ask because I'm simply that drop-dead beautiful and irresistible and I really would make a great model.
I'm afraid, though, that the real truth is my lack of expertise in the realm of creating the "perfect" make-up job is that obvious and/or I'm just in some desperate need of some help....
I have no idea which one it is. And I'm too timid to ask.

Maybe it's a line they're taught to get people to buy their wares and/or become consultants themselves. Either way, you're beautiful so who cares!
That is so funny! Imagine it happening twice. Well, it's certainly not because you need any help! Yeah, maybe it is just a line to get you to buy their stuff.
haha! megan,i love your writing. i'm always amused. miss you guys!
