We humans are silly people and the Israelites, at times, seem like the silliest of all people! How could they not trust in what God had promised them? How could they be so easily persuaded, while on the precipice of the Promised Land, that they were in fact doomed to fail and should "run away! Run away!"
And then I read this in this week's notes and I said, "Ah. I get it. I'm no better than them."
Man. How quickly I see the circumstances around me and feel that they are too big for me to handle (duh, obviously) but forget that my God is Lord over ALL aspects of my life. Oh that I were like Caleb or Joshua who trusted in God even when the obstacles were overwhelmingly giant in nature compared to their grasshopper-selves.
Job changes. Possible moves. Uncertainty in schooling. Parenting toddlers and preschoolers.
Overwhelming giants, right??
I only need to look to God. And stop right there.
