We chose the name Grant because it means "great" and Alfred was my maternal grandfather's given name. Alfred means "wise counselor" and we pray that our little boy will be just that - a great and wise counselor. I loved my grandpa immensely and he played a huge role in my life as a young girl. I would LOVE for him to meet my children and am so honored to give my little boy his name. He hated his name, but I know he would be touched and humbled to have his 4th great-grandson bear his name. If Grant is anything like him, he'll be a wonderful little boy and man.
