Thanksgiving 2010

This year was a Myers Thanksgiving and we had the wonderful opportunity to play host! Kc's parents are still in England (soon to move back to the States) so we had another year of just being with the siblings. Leslie (and her husband, John, and new baby, Caleb) flew in from PA and Drew's wife, Christina, came all the way from Honolulu. Drew is currently finishing up a 6 month deployment to the Middle East so we were short one sibling.

It was Bennett and Caleb's first time to meet each other and it was so fun to introduce them. They were a little unsure about the other at first ... since Bennett is 2.5 months older, we had to constantly be pulling his hands away from his "attempts" to be friendly to his cousin. :) It won't be much longer until they can really interact and get into lots of mischief! Bennett has lots of girl cousins on the Koons side, so we are so glad for a boy cousin on the Myers side of the family!

Over the course of the week that everyone was here, we just did lots of chilling and resting and playing with babies. Having little ones around totally changes the way family gatherings are handled. Instead of having the freedom to play lots of games and all interact together all the time, the focus is now on babies and keeping them entertained and feeding them and rocking them to sleep - especially with two babies on different schedules! It's a sad change but a good one. But, our fun times did usually have to wait until both babies were snug in their beds at night.

The babies in their different stages of being fed -- one with a bottle and the other in a high chair.

Bennett Christian and Caleb Scott -- meeting for the first time!
Caleb was usually a little unsure of Bennett. B is loud and aggressive. C is stoic and cuddly.

My sweet boy likes to chew on ANYTHING he can get his hands on!
Cousins!!
See what I mean? Just playing with babies. Less Wii action and more cuddling action.

Thanksgiving Day!

Our dear, dear friends, the Shipps, were also able to join us for the feast and afternoon!

On Friday, the men let the women go to the mall and babysat the boys for a bit. They took them on a walk to see if Redbox had anything of worth to watch - not so much. But, we girls enjoyed our time out!!
Getting to talk to Drew on Skype. If you look closely, we made it all in one picture!!
Bennett and his Aunt Christina
Taking the boys to see Santa (more pictures of this in another post! :))
Real men push strollers through the mall! (And oh the looks they got!!!)

(Thanks, Christina, for many of these pictures! When you host, you don't take pics.)
