We've now reached the half-way point of your first year of life! My word, where has time gone already? Weren't you just born?!?!? I can't believe that we've already been able to spend 6 whole months with you - what a precious little boy you are!
This has been a BIG month for you. Literally. You went to see your pediatrician and you gained 2.5 lbs this month. That's a lot for a little baby! You now weigh 17 lbs and are 26 1/2" long! You are still in the 50% percentile but the doctor says that's just perfect. I think so too.
So many new things have happened to you!
2 weeks ago your first tooth popped through. I thought it would be happening any time because you were drooling all over the place and had been a bit uncomfortable. Instead of sucking on your pacifier, you wanted to chew on it instead. And then, one Sunday, your daddy and I were playing with you and lo and behold ... there it was! And then yesterday I looked in your mouth and there, just barely peeking through your gums, was Tooth #2!
You've been enjoying all sorts of new foods. You've tried rice cereal, avacado, banana, and now sweet potato. You really loved banana, especially mixed with cereal. Your daddy said that your one tooth was a sweet one and I tend to agree! But, after having sweet potato this weekend, I think we've found your new favorite. You "mmmm"'ed for more after every bite. It's so much fun to watch you eat!
When we first started giving you real food, it seemed that you discovered that you had a tongue! You haven't done it recently, but there at first, you were constantly sticking your tongue out and discovering how it worked. Precious.
I think you might be an earlier talker, if we base that off of how much you babble. When at home, you "goo goo", "bababa", "wawawa" and even "mamama" all day long! However, as soon as we are out in public, you won't make a peep and just watch people. We pull into the garage, and then you start back up again. You are such a funny little boy!
Rolling isn't an activity that you seem too concerned at mastering; although, you are starting to sit by yourself and that's a big deal! There have been times that I come to get you after a nap and you are laying on your back, after I've put you down on your tummy. That must mean one thing -- you rolled over at some point in your nap!
You are becoming quite skilled in holding toys, grasping for them, and playing with them. It's so much fun for me and daddy to watch you learn new things!
In the past week or so, you've started becoming quite attached to your momma. On occasion, you start to whimper and fuss when I leave the room, even if it's just for a second. Even though it makes my heart happy to know that you love me, I'm hoping that you'll quickly learn to adjust to others when I'm not around. We are starting Bible Study Fellowship this week and next week we are going to attend a local MOPS group. You'll get some practice right away as you've never been in a nursery before!
You continue to live up to your name and are such a tremendous blessing to me, your daddy, your grandparents and everyone you smile your sweet smile to! I love you, Bennett Christian!!
Playing in the laundry basket one evening. And of course, you sucked on your toes!
Again, sucking on your toes. A favorite past time.
You look terribly uncomfortable to me in this picture. I'm so sorry! You are enjoying your activity center more and more.

I love, love, love the pics of
Bennett and the details of his
day to day cuteness. Thank you.
Love and kisses to you all...G Ma S
He's just adorable! And, in that picture in the car seat, he looks JUST LIKE YOU!!! Somehow he just does.... :)
GREAT PICS!! Thanks, you made my day. I LOVE the car seat pic. Can't wait to hold him again...Mom
Heather, I think that's the first time someone has said that! Usually we get, "If that's not Kc's son I don't know who is!", or stuff along that line! Yeah! Maybe he is my baby after all :)
Precious. Simply precious. He's looking so much more grown up in these pictures! And I think I see some Megan through all the Kc now. :)
I definitely see you in him! It's amazing how they change as they grow. Avery used to be a little Wade clone when she was little, and now all I hear is how much she looks like me! Bennett is precious, and I could just eat him up! Love you!!!
LOVE all the baby Bennett pictures! Could there be a cuter boy anywhere?!!!! I submit no!!!! He's adorable and precious and we love him. We are so proud of all his achievements!
I thought the same thing about the car seat pic...he DOES look just like you! :)
It's my favorite when you write to your son like this. :)
