Gratefulness coupled with Generosity

I'm so grateful for a generous husband.

My dad is a very generous man. And I'm so proud that my husband is also an extremely generous man.

A blog that I enjoy reading, has issued a call for people to donate to either Compassion or the Red Cross for the relief effort in Haiti. She and her husband have agreed to donate $1 for each person that donates from her blog.

After reading that, I emailed my husband to see if he felt that perhaps we should give some money for the relief effort through one of those two organizations.

And this is why I'm grateful for the generosity of my husband. In my mind, I had already settled on an amount -- nothing too drastic but still giving something but without breaking the bank, so to speak. Well, he responds back to me and his number was 10 times more than what I had originally thought!! 10 times. I thought I was being generous but Kc overwhelmed me with his idea of generosity.

I don't say this to brag on that action per se. I say all this to praise God for a man who sees a need, and agrees to step in with help for even more than I had imagined!!

I realize that our donation will not go far when you look at the devastation that has occurred in Haiti. But, in doing so, my faith has been strengthened in knowing that God will provide. He'll provide and use the monies that are coming in from people all over the world. My faith has also been strengthened through my generous husband in realizing it's o-k to give more than what I think we can afford.

I'm grateful for a generous and compassionate husband.

Exactly! Thank God for men like that! We are praying night and day for those in Haiti - the stories are definitely beyond MY imagination.

He is a keeper!

When reading this the Lord reminded me this is heart---while I may offer "all" that I have or what I think is a lot, He gives 10, 100, 1000 times more. He can't help but be generous as that is His nature...oh to have that...
