Back from the Dead

I can't believe that it's been a month since I've written here last. Life got going way too fast and I just wasn't able to keep up with it here. Things are settling (a tad) and I'm glad for that.

Just a quick re-cap of the last month:

1. Biggest news of the month was that Shannon, my wonderful sister, got engaged to Jeff Schrage on Dec. 27!!!! They haven't set a date yet but are looking into this spring or early summer. I'm so excited for both of them and what God is currently doing in their lives! YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!
Aren't they adorable together?!?!?

2. Kc and I spent 57 hours in a car over the Christmas break. I hope not to do that again for a very long time. Ugh.

3. We had a wonderful time with the Myers clan for Christmas this year. We met up with Drew and Christina (Kc's bro and his wife) in Biloxi, MS, and then headed up to PA. Our week with the fam was full, fun, and restful. We spent the New Years with D and C in Biloxi and then Kace and I drove home on New Years Day. Here are some photo highlights of the week:
Christmas Day Dinner. The Myers family has the tradition of grilling steaks on Christmas. I was quite happy about that one! :)

Going downtown Pittsburgh to "The Strip"

Megan and Leslie, showing off, of course

Murder Mystery Dinner one night. Kc and I made dinner and then we all played the game. So fun! Everyone got into their characters (Drew especially!) and thankfully I wasn't the guilty party. Whew!

Kc and Drew at "The Church's Brewery" we all dined at one afternoon

4. I flew out to Sacramento, CA very early in the morning of Jan 3, in order to participate in one of my college roommate's (and bridesmaid in mine) wedding! It was great to see Katie in love with her now husband, Dave. Me and my two closest friends in college are now all married women! So fun! It's exciting to see how God works in our lives, keeping our friendships solid even though many miles separate us, and how after all those hours talking in a dorm room about the future "loves" -- here we are! I don't have any pictures from the wedding because another b'maid took a bazillion and is sending them to us. :)

5. This week Kc's assistant was out of town so I got to sub in his class all week. We both thoroughly enjoyed working side-by-side on something as we haven't really done that yet. Shocking, I think considering our passions and lives. It was a full week back in school and we are already thankful for the weekend.

6. Tomorrow we both fly to Columbus, OH -- Kc for a couple of days and me for the entire week. Cedarville asked us to speak at the chapel focusing on the program in China and we are thrilled for this opportunity! They are covering all our costs and expenses. God is good. So, we'll speak on Monday for almost the entire chapel, dine with the committee members and visit with folks. I'm going to fly out of Indianapolis so that way I can spend a few days with my family. Hopefully some wedding planning will get done! :) And, of course, time with the nieces.

That's basically it. It's been a full holiday season and I'm glad for life to start settling down to normalcy again.

Hurray for time with family and sweet nieces :) Love the pix of KC's fam. We also do steak on Christmas and EVERYONE makes it home for our family dinner. Isn't it great that your family is expanding and growing?
Missing you in VA, dear Meg!

The mystery dinner sounds like it was fun--love the picture! :) I have done two of those but it's been ages.

Looking forward to seeing you Wednesday.
