Here's the question of the hour ...
Why is blogging so much more fun in a dorm room than at a home computer? I used to love telling about my random and crazy days, and now, it seems like such a drudgery to sit down for a few seconds and leave a post. And I totally want to because of all the people in the world, my dad reads my blog. How cool is that?!!?
I still have random and crazy days, but they just don't seem as interesting anymore. I don't know why. Like today -- a friend called to see if I wanted to go out with him for lunch. I heartedly agreed, I mean c'mon, who wouldn't want a free lunch out?!?! But, we ended up spending most of our time out waiting in a VERY SLOW MOVING line at Verizon. The woman behind the counter kept staring at us. I think she was annoyed or something. Or having a bad day. It wasn't all that bad. Jason and I talked non-stop in order to amuse ourselves and he kept referring to me as "honey" everytime we talked to an employee. And then at the restaurant, he wanted to wear a ring to make it look like we were having a "lunch" together. I have such weird friends. Love them to death but, man, are they weird. Like stealing car keys out of one's purse and then just waiting across the parking lot, cell phone open and in hand, to see how long it would take me to realize that the keys weren't on my person. Who does that?!? Seriously! :)
And then, the evening consisted of a very pleasant visit by the grandparents, when we had to head to the basement cuz Indy was having a tornado warning and they just moved into a condo that doesn't have a basement and so we sat in ours. And watched tv. And drank tea. And nasty biscotti.
See what I mean? My life is no longer exciting and thrilling. Just wait one month and then it will be exciting. :) That's right. One month from today and I'm headed to Beijing. To teach PhD students. Laugh hard. I sure do because it's really funny to think about me, little ol' Megan, teaching classes that I know nothing about. It's gonna be a great year.
And now, I need to go to bed. Meeting the pastors tomorrow morning to really sell them on my year in China. Good times.
