Who wants to travel all the way across the globe next year and come visit me in China?!?!? Yah, you heard that right -- China. As of Friday evening (oh say roughly around 7:15pm EST) my future became known to me as I accepted a teaching position at a university in Beijing, China. Can you believe it? I'm going to spend an entire year in China!! I don't even like Chinese food! Especially not fish. Oh, what will I do if I get served sushi?!?!? [sigh]
But, I prayed so hard about this and that God would make it incredibly clear to me and it has all fallen right into place for me to go with the group from here and work with the Chinese people, teaching English as well as some theatre classes. I applied the very last day that I could, knowing that there were more applicants that positions available, and I still got accepted. Amazing.
I'm scared out of my wits. I don't really know some of the kids that will be going over this year --know some that are already over there, teaching now, but I'm going nonetheless. I'm going to China. I feel that I need to say it over and over and over to really get it in my head that I'm going to China. China. That huge country on the other side of the world. China. Wow.
I can't believe that this experience is going to happen to me! I'm going to do things that most people would never DREAM about doing. Like camping out on the Great Wall ... who does that?!?! Seriously. But, I guess that's the thing to do. I dunno. Mom said that when they come to visit me, they aren't doing that. Chickens. I'm going to live in a communist country for a year. Communist. Yah. Weird. If you want to know more about it, email me and I'll tell you that I really don't know much more at this point. :)
But, that's the plan. God is good. All the time.

China? What kind of flowers are in China? You probably can see and smell some that cost a small fortune here! Which reminds me, are fortune cookies as big in China as USA? The Lord will do a mighty work thru you to many who hunger to know Him :)
confucius say: women who marry China man have short husband!
love you from VA!
It's a good thing that sushi is a Japanese food. Plus, it's not too bad if you pretend it's just bland jello.
Megan, I've been meaning to e-mail you ever since I heard the exciting news!! WOW. This will be such an ADVENTURE for you. I know you'll do great working at the university ... everyone will love you. Are you going to try to learn Chinese? This will be an amazing next chapter of your life.
Love ya,
Amy
